10 More Reasons to Send a Handmade Greeting Card

I'm continuing on the journey as to why in our modern day of social media, texting and other forms of nonverbal, technologically driven communication, you should still send a handwritten note.  Here are 10 more reasons:

  1. To say, “Look at this gorgeous card I found.”
    • Don’t keep something that pretty to yourself.
  2. To congratulate someone on a new car.
    • Butter them up for when you inevitably ask to borrow it.
  3. To celebrate Thanksgiving.
    • No one sends “Happy Thanksgiving” cards. Be unique.
  4. To celebrate the Fourth of July.
    • If they’re American, it’s sort of a second birthday card.
  5. To congratulate someone on a promotion.
    • If appropriate, maybe include your résumé.
  6. To wish someone good luck on an upcoming surgery.
    • Not that you need luck or anything. You’re in very skilled, capable hands.
  7. To share a recipe.
    • Add one tablespoon of friendship …
  8. To wish someone a happy anniversary.
    • Sticking to milestone years is boring. “Happy 17th Wedding Anniversary” is unique.
  9. To wish someone a happy divorce.
    • Know your audience on this one.
  10. As a joke.
    • Sending your 45-year-old friend three “Happy Quinceañera” cards will get a laugh.

Beautiful Tote Bag - ecofriendly!

I was browsing Etsy this early Sunday morning and found this beautiful tote bag:

In my quest to remain ecofriendly and reduce, reuse & recycle, this tote bag was handmade using fabrics from the Boise Re Use Market. It's a stunning combination of prints and is only $25! Click on http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_list_6&listing_id=12759998 to visit the Etsy store that is selling this item.

While you are at it, don't forget to purchase a card from me if this tote is a gift for someone!

My Etsy Store!

As much as I love to scrapbook and create things, I enjoy teaching new techniques and working on my site and on-line store, and the monthly crops, and all the other things I am involved in.

So, to ensure I keep my skills up, I've decided to open an Etsy shop! For those of you lurking on this blog who don't scrapbook, you can buy things that I make, and you can discover a whole new world of items that are all HANDMADE. The great feature of Etsy is all the artists and crafters on there make their own products to place for sale. We buy from each other & support each other. We bring new people to Etsy to discover all the magical and beautiful creations from talented people.

My store is http:\\rememberwhencreation.etsy.com. I'm trying to add new things every other day. So if you are in a rush and need a card or page layout or any of the other things that I'm going to add real soon, then let me know. If you see something in the store & you want to learn how to do it, let me know & I'll teach it at a monthly crop.

Remember, our country was founded on small businesses. Back in the day, before the ridiculous corporations took over, we shopped at the butcher, the baker and the florist. We visited farms and all the Mom & Pop shops to buy our goods. I know financial times are hard, however, how are the Mom & Pops going to make it if we continuously go to Wally World and Target to buy our gifts? I know toilet paper is cheaper at Wally World, and that's ok. When you are thinking about your holiday gifts or birthday gifts, think HANDMADE. It's much more meaningful.

Have a great weekend & think about my last paragraph!

The 'I Love You' card also has room for a personal touch, i.e. name or another sentiment or embellishment, in the upper right hand corner of the card. The large heart displays a button in the center for extra texture.

All cards are blank inside for your own personal message.
